TOISINAJATTELIJAT (2020-2022)

Toisinajattelijat (Soile Voima, Taru Koski, Heli Keskikallio) was an artistic research project and work-community that seeked to make more room and create value for the embodied expertise and thought. Know-how of our artistic research is especially entangled with the culturally revolutionary way in which new materialistic thought seeks to view the world through the lens of interaction or intra-action, emphasising the living in-betweenness of things instead of stabilities or fixed identities. We hijack the academic artistic research, deepen our understanding on new materialism and support one-another’s artistic processes and artistic tryouts. Project was be made public through many different kinds of communal and individual outputs, publications, events and performances. As one part of our project we did publish a podcast series on themes emerging out of new materialistic and artistic research. Together with a wider artistic colleagual community we did learn how to be in awe, how to be moved but also how to align in order to steer, direct and play in a way that creates new possibilities for artistic expertise to create value in our world.

TOISINAJATTELIJAT is committed to work towards a more love-guided future, promoting the collaboration between arts and sciences. Our work was supported by Koneen säätiö, Helsingin kaupunki, SKR and Taike 2020-2022
