Photography and performance artist

I am a photography and performance artist based in Helsinki, Finland. My work is multidisciplinary, combining photography,

multi-material installations, dance, performance art, site-specific art, and text. As part of my work I have been organizing and leading various discussions, multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary events, installations and encounters thematically related to ecological questions. I often work together with my partner, artist Anttoni Halonen as a artistduo Halonen&Voima.

In my practice, I explore ecological questions, coexistence with different beings, the multiplicity of reality, and themes related to the human position in the world. My special interests have been over years related to the Northern environments, living conditions, climate, their changes and the ways they affect the whole planet we live with. I aim to work and to present different perspectives in ways that do not take possession of, tame, or manipulate.

My working practices include both analog- and digital photography, with often different experimental tryouts and also practices on performance-, sculptural/multi-materialistic installations and site-specific arts. Those practices often are mixed in different volumes and ways together.

My work is rooted in my fascination for both natural sciences, documentary (which is by itself interesting and marvelous), little observations and also for myths, poetry and otherworldly.
